Hey Sajacobs! Great to see you back

May I ask what colour are your curtains?
Lucky's tank is in the bay window here, but because my curtains are white, I can shut them and still have light in the room

I get a fair bit of algae, but one side of the tank I let it do what it wants as Lucky nibbles at it and I clean it off everywhere else with an old plastic card -using this means the glass doesn't get scratched.
You could consider just closing the curtains a little bit on very bright days, or just clean it off once a week during your normal water maintenance.
You could always consider snails I suppose, Nerites can be very good (if your tank is suitable for them), but the issue with buying creatures that eat algae, is what you do, once they've eaten it all! They'd have nothing left to eat, unless you grew it on rocks yourself or something like that.
