help with my red cap oranda....

I think my 2 orandas have problem because their red blood vessels are clearly seen in their tail and fins...what do you think is the problem?..... ;]

This condition is caused by water quality problems, stress, bacterial infections or parasites.
So first you need to test your water, pH, nitrite, nitrate and ammonia, to make sure that you can rule out this problem! If you do have some errors in the water parameters, repair accordingly through water changes or with commercial buffers. It usually says in the instructions of the test what you should do to repair problems like these.

Now either move your fish to a hospital tank to treat, or perform a 50% water change, remove any live plants (to a safe place) and add salt. One tablespoon per gallon, split up in three doses added one every 12 hours.

But another reason for your problems may be that your tank hasn't cycled yet. For how long has your tank been up and running?

all the water parameters are ok...maybe its only because of itch because i saw white spots on their tails and fins...maybe ill just give them appropriate medications.....

If you add medications to your tank it might kill off the good bacteria.  So treating your fish in a hospital/separate tank is better.
If your water chemistry is good then that means your tank has probably gone through the nitrogen cycle.

Basically the cycle is: Fish wastes----ammonia(very harmful)------ammonia eating bacteria------nitrites(still harmful, but to a lesser degree)------nitrite eating bacteria-----nitrates(which are least harmful of all unless at really high levels).  So through water changes you keep your nitrate levels down.
This is what is meant by cycling.  If your tank is new it might have high ammonia levels or nitrites.
When it is finished cycling your ammonia and nitrite levels should be at zero.

Ah ok now i know what cycling means...i do gave them medications in a separate tank......

So, do your best to get the main tank cycled while there are no fish in it! Test the water, as mentioned before, and try to help your tank with cycling to avoid future danger for your fish. This can be done by "feeding" the tank a little when there are no fish there, and by adding some bio filter booster, which is like beneficial bacteria in a bottle! Test the water daily, and as soon as the ammonia levels are down on 0, your tank will be more or less cycled and ready for a new try with your fish (: Still test the water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate just to be on the safe side! Do little water changes regularly to keep them down if they're high.

Is this intended for humans? I would suggest, just to stay on the safe side, to treat them only with medicines that are intended for treatment of fish. Besides, I think I read somewhere that fish should be treated only with liquid medicines mixed in the water or injected into the fish.

OH! OH! I know what that is. Sonorus had something like that! It can be treated with tetracycline too Smiley I read it to be something called hemmorhagic septicemia, or red pest. The other two thought I was wrong in my diagnosis tho hahaha. Keep a close eye on your fish, it may also develop red sores on it's body too.

You can use penicillin products on fish but I have no idea what the dosage would be.
Probably best to ask a vet or go to koivet.com they might have info there on the use of penicillin and other antibiotics.  The most common antibiotic is teramyacin.  That you can purchase at any aquatic store.
