Today when I woke up I went to check on my fish  Cheesy  She was swimming really fast and checking in between the rocks.  When I came closer though she froze then darted into her fake pineapple that I bought her.  Wink  Is anyone else's fish(es) really shy?   Grin

Yeah some fish are shy and some are very bold.  I'm sure very soon she will get use to you coming by her tank, especially if you start feeding her at the same times every day! Smiley

yes they will start to associate you with food XD and then she wont be so shy anymore. apparently you can get your fish to come to the surface with just saying "here fishy fishy" lol

It may take a month or so, so just be patient.  Try not to make any fast movements or abrupt changes in light for a bit (but make sure you turn the aquarium lights out for the night so she can sleep).

My fish Sunshine is the shiest goldfish I have ever had. He will come up to me when I come in the room and when I open the tank lid because that means food Tongue But he is quite jumpy. Sometimes I look at him and he straight away turns his back on me Tongue Maybe he just takes after me because I can be shy too.

definitley keep regular on turning the lights on and off. that gives them a routine. Like babies, they sorta kinda thrive on routine. it makes them happy. give a month or so, as Nicole said, and mayeb shell get better Smiley

Hepsiba once took off like a missile when I went past the tank at a day time I usually  am not at home. She was that quick that she bumped her nose into the gravel Shocked  I was frightened and inspected her nose every day for a while. And Humphrey did it too another day, he almost went through the glass.  Shocked
So from there on when I approach the tank and they cannot see me I yell out, " Hey HUMP AND HEP, how you're going"
So they can hear my voice and know I am not far away.

Lol Ive never had my fish do that.. I mean, Im always randomly walking into the room, but then again I alwasy call out to my fish too "Hey babies Im home! mommy's home!didju miss me? hey? didju miss me" XD Im such a terrible person.. Im sure the baby talk drives my stepdad up the wall lol
