Hanna,
The only thing I know for sure about your fish is that one is a common (shorter caudal fin) and one is a comet (longer caudal fin). Smiley

HEHEY Mindemae,
glad to have you back, we missed you on here  Wink HOW ARE YOU ?

Yes, we'll see how we go with sexing them, I think the difference in the shape of their vents is visible, lol  Grin even if they are a common and a comet ( both were sold as comets though ) they are beautiful and we just returned leaving them allone for 2 days. ... being away for one night we both missed them...
They ate the new growth of the plants and when I fed them, geee where they gulping. Later tonight I'll give them a couple of peas and tomorrow is water change day again.

Now we do have 5, all are comets.  Grin

During our last visits in our pet shop I could see male goldfish there with heaps of breeding tubercules. It is SOOOOO MUCH DIFFERENT to see them in nature, than seeing them on photos.  Wink

You can imagine, that coming home from the pet shop I did look VERY CLOSELY at our ones. I might have spotted some on Skippy, he might start to show some but it is hard to tell because he's white.  Cheesy

It depends a lot on their age too, it's very hard to see on a goldfish younger than a year!

wowee. I just read this entire topic and I'm really mindblown - now I can go check and see if I can tell whether my fishies are male or female!

*Runs of to check on fishies*

Urgh! Still not sure - they swim so fast! But I think I know that Nugget is a male and Pebbles is a female. For sure. I think.  Tongue

LOL, LOL, maybe you get heaps of pics while they swim around or dig the gravel, you may be lucky to get some shots where you can tell...  Grin  Grin  Grin

I also posted in Pictures and Videos "OUR BOY" there are pics of Humphrey with breeding stars.
All our fish are comets, no common, and the jugement of the shape of their vent was right.
