how many air bubbles in 75 gal tank?

I'm showing off my newness again. How many air stones etc. should be in a 75-gal tank? The Aqua Clear 110 creates quite a bit of current. I have a 36" bubble stone and two air stones. I'd like to hear your opinions as I don't want the fish to be on a treadmill 24/7. Thanks

I have a 2' (I think it is)  bubble wand and another one that is maybe 10".  Those 2 seem to work just fine for my 75g.  Plenty of bubbles and the fish are very active but not being pushed around by the current, ya know.  What you have may be even a little more bubble action than me but sounds about right.  Smiley

as many or as little as u like to see in your tank as long as u have some bubbles u are good

Thanks!  Based on your replies, it may be ok the way I have it.   I worry about the balance between making sure there are no anaerobic areas, and that it's not too turbulent.

I will be re-arranging the bubble stones soon to make it look a little more organized.  I'm disappointed that the 12" stone is only putting out about 4" bubbles, so next time I'll just buy the smaller one.

Lol, my pleco was laying on top of the air stone today Wink
I have only one in my 83 gal, actually... but you can't ever have too many of them since they don't really create any current.

LOL, your pleco is funny.

Good to know that the air stones don't add to the current; it must all be from the two filters then.  I think I have everything adjusted well.  Sometimes they're foraging on the bottom of the tank, and cross over the air bubbles right over the stone, and it doesn't bother them.   Cheesy

That sounds just about right Smiley If they'd be bothered by the current they'd most likely sit in one place most of the time to avoid it Smiley
