Hello,
One of my goldfish has got some spots but they are not white. He had that for years and I thought it was cancers. He feeds and swims around and I did not worry. But now I would want to make sure What it has got. Any ideas?
Thanks

He definitely has something and is not feeling well because the dorsal fin should always be up. Have the spots grown in size? Is another fish picking on him? Any sharp decorations that he can get injured on? How is the water quality? The best thing you can do for him right now is make sure the water is in excellent condition. Test it with a test kit and do water changes as needed. He's a beautiful fish!
There's a sticky at the top of this forum page with a template to fill in your water parameters, etc. If you fill it out, we can help you better.

They appear to be tumors, which are caused by uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells. If he has had them for years , most likely the tumors are benign and not malignant. Benign tumors often don't really hurt the fish, but they can be removed by a veterinarian if you wish.

I agree, they could be tumors. There may be another problem also, because his dorsal fin should be standing erect.
