Koi & Comet Goldfish

I just bought 2 new Koi and 2 Comet Goldfish, all four of them are a decent size, maybe 3-4 inches long and one of the Koi is being very agressive, Is this normal? I have never seen this type of behavior before and really can't send one of them to their room for being naughty, any advise?

That's pretty normal behavior for koi, thus the reason why they need lots and lots of space. This aggressive behavior is especially noticeable if you attempt to raise koi in an aquarium.
The only way to reduce problem is to provide them adequate room for growth and movement.
What kind of environment are they kept in and how many gallons?

I have a very large pond in my yard (500 gallons or so). I am just thinking maybe they are so excited to be in such a large enviroment that they are just excited and racing around each other...

So you've let them into the pond? Okay, well, I'm not much of a pro when it comes to ponds nor koi, so I won't be saying whether your pond is too small or not, but I will point out that people usually keep koi and goldfish separately, because it's very common that koi are bullying goldfish, so I don't think that'll change much... You might have to exchange some of the fish or something at some point if it'll continue!

Thanks Nossie, I think the crisis has passed, hahaha, they seem to be a lot calmer this morning. I think they just needed to get used to each other. Believe me, the pond is big enough for all 3 Koi, the 2 Comet's and 70 guppies. I'm not going to add any more any time soon. I just wanted to get the one Koi company and now he has plenty of company.

That sounds good then!
Glad to hear that you know what you're doing
But hey, are you gonna keep guppies there? They would get eaten right away!

Nossie, the way they breed, I could stand to loose a few, hahaha, I think I now have about a hundred of them.

Alright! No problems then!
That's pretty cool though! That they survive to breed xD

Sounds like spawning behavior to me!
Koi and goldfish will interbreed but the fry will be sterile!
