Mindermae-Well, I was cleaning the tank with my gravel vac, and after sucking out about 30% of the water (the tank was a bit dirtier than usual) I turned the valve to let water flow in. The water came out rather quickly, and the level was high but not super high. I didn't think this would be an issue (st*pid me!) and the next morning my mom had told me that my dad found him on the floor once he came home from work. So I guess the water level was high enough that he could jump and still have some water. I still have my 2 babies though.
Aimee and Nossie, I am so very sorry for your loss! What beautiful goldies! They will swim on in your heart. RIP Sparky, Patootie, Poppet, and Pilskin!

ranchuandorandalover: Aww, thanks!
I'm really sorry for your little baby though!
Maybe you should get some kind of cover for your tank if you don't already have one?

I want to throw a memorium out to all the wild fish that have ended up on my plate. Your deaths were not in vain... you served your purpose well...

Tiger didn't make it
sob... maybe it was my fault that I didn't recognize his fin rot in time... tried to save him when I seen the white stuff on his tail, but it was too late
Tiger is now in the Big Pond Beyond, R.I.P my little brave Tiger

It must be hard Hanna with a community tank and with a platy who aren't that biggest fish. It wouldn't be easy to spot the fin rot so don't feel guilty. RIP Tiger.
RIP Halfy aswell

Oh Hanna so sorry to hear about Tiger.
Jack, I'm so sorry about Halfy.
You did a good job trying to heal him but I think he was too weak to begin with.

Guess I will have to wait to get my longfinned albino bristlenose. I received the baby goldies today (a day late darned post office) all 5 of the bristlenose that he gave me with them were dead, he has sent them before and they fine I guess the extra day for was too much for them and lady postal worker was holding box sideways one armed then she just flipped it roughly sloshing fishies all over place. some people don't think fish matter. She knew was live fish box was marked all over and she actually said "are these your fish". No telling where they spent that extra night been like 25 degrees here. About 10 of the 40 of the goldy babies are not looking to good either, lost one of the tiniest one already. Hope the rest recover. They are so cute.

Here I was feeling all sad and thinking I was the only one on this board who lost their little goldie. I'm so sorry for all of you and I feel so bad for loosing my Roxy. I feel as though I let her down, but she finally looked beautiful again and at peace this morning. Last week my three Neons, Newman, Zippy and Dottie, decided it was time for them to move on. They were the best of friends and I'm glad they moved on together. Why is it, loosing fish can make you feel like such a failure?

Hey Teetsy, I know how you feel, just now I've got a huge "dumplin" sitting in my throat.
sometimes it happens to the best, everything is perfect, but it still happens... it is natures call.
Don't ever feel like you failed.
You done your best.
It happens in animal life, it happens in human life, one second can change it all.
We all are greatfull for the happy times we could share with our loved ones, no one can take those wonderful memories away.
