I use to feed freeze-dried blood worms and tubifex to my fish twice a week (: They really enjoy it!
But before I give them the tubifex cubes I break them into smaller pieces and soak them, just for a while so they won't be floating around on the surface. My fish love catching those! (:

Peas are great! They contain lots of fiber and vitamins for your fish, so do try! Remember to buy frozen peas without salt or anything added! Thaw them and pop them out of their shells before giving them to your fish If necessary, you can cut them into smaller pieces if your fish are still small (:

Other than this, you could always try feeding them some lettuce, try "planting" it in the gravel or sticking some small leaves in a clip and see how they like it (: I read that it might be good boiling it slightly for it to be easier to eat for the fish (:
Cucumber, zucchini, carrots... You could even try some orange if you want! They eat more or less anything

Nossie: Orange? Wow, really? Last thing I think a fish would eat, I dunno why but I'll try it. Gotta give my fish his vitamin C I gave him some peas before and he gobbled them all down, I was pretty amazed (I think I am to use to birds and how weary they are of new food at first ) But thankyou for all the advice, I'm going to try all those vegies and those frozen foods.

A question though, if not eaten how long should I leave the vegies in there? An hour or just a few minutes? This isn't too likely though seeing as my fish is a guts.

Hanna: What is Elodea?? I don't think I've heard of it. And my fish always sucks on every little gravel stone too

Haha birds are soo cute, my two cockatiels are always so weary of new stuff but as soon as they get brave enough to try it generally they cannot stop.

All my fish love oranges and will eat bit of the pulp out of my fingers.  I take all the skin off the pieces of orange so that they are fed just the juicy pulpy stuff.

I found a really awesome plant at the pet shop last time! *a slight bit offtopic* It's a smaller relative to Anubias, but these small ones rather grow along the tank bottom and they don't get very high. About 2-3 inches or so. Just thought I'd inform
They've got strong and waxy leaves, so goldfish won't eat them (:

If goldfish love oranges, does anybody have experience with mandarines ?

I also read that strawberries are ok too? But in this case I would'nt feed with the litle seeeds on, only the inside?
