White spot desease

hai there...

My oranda is diseased "white spot" in the tail. After treatment a few days, "white spot" is gone, but his tail is damage and the color become reddish (original color of the tail is white). for the record, my oranda still active swiming around and has good appetite.

is this irritation or something? and how to treat it?

Check your water chemistry. Thats the biggest thing you can do. Make sure there is nothign overly wonky with your water. Id reccommend Melafix, because that stuff apparently fixes everything. what does the tail look like? can we have pics maybe?

After ick is gone I stil would do a daily waterchange, about 10-15% with slightly increased temp and salt tonic.

Melafix and Pimafix are good, they fix tissue problems too.

Also as mentioned before by Katarine: check your water chemistry. This is most important that water quality is ok

Sounds like your fish has a bit of fin rot too. Feed an oral antibiotic fish food only 2X's a day for a week to 10 days.
Add aquarium salt to your tank 1 TBS to every 5 gallons and as previous posters said, treat with Melafix and Pimafix according to bottles directions!

thanks for all your advice.

I change 25% water everyday, and put saltfish, and my oranda much better right now  Grin

btw, becouse i dont have a quarantine tank, i didnt separate the sick one with the healty one. I've got information, using antiobiotic will heal the sick one but the healty one will immune. So if the healty one got sick, antibiotic will not work.
Is it true?

No that is not true.
If the sick fish was with the healthy ones and not separated then you need to treat ALL the fish in the tank.
There could be an incubation period for the harmful parasites/bacteria so treating everyone at the same time will insure that they all stay healthy. Smiley

thats definitely not true...

I would strongly reccomend a sick tank. Smiley you dont have to worry about all your fish getting sick.

A quarantine tank must not be that big, there are some available at the petstores for reasonable priced, some are made of plastic, like transport tanks. They should be fine for the time the fish needs to be quarantined I think.

Your fish will be fine.
