Are fake plants ok for moors?? I know they have bad eyesight and sensitive eyes, but as long as the plant isn't too sharp or anything, are fake plants ok??

I'd go for REAL PLANTS.
Especially if fishies are so sensitive and delicate.

If you desperately WANT a fake plant, take a silk plant, they have softer leaves and tend not to be so pointy. I've got two of those in my quarantine tank now Smiley

Live plants conquer all! I love them, they're just so beautiful Smiley
but IF fake plants are needed, I prefer silk over plastic Wink

Live plants ARE really nice. I had some for a few years in my community tank, but I just didn't have time to take care of the HUGE java Moss that I had, so I ended up giving it back. I think I'll get some more real plants soon!
Right now, I use silk plants in all of my tanks! They're soft enough that they won't harm the fish with delicate fins, but they don't ruin easily. To me, plastic just looks WAY too fake.

The decorations are all up to you to choose, but if your fish are sick, I'd doubt any decor will help. So please focus on treating them first.

Quick question: Do the goldies need a lot of plants to hide in? How many plants are needed for sufficient "hidey spots"?

I always have 1 or 2 live plants in my tank, and they look so pretty and natural. The fish nibble on them whenever they want, but they still last for months. I quarantine the plants before putting them in. And when I go on vacation, I don't need an automatic feeder because the plants are enough for them to eat.

The plants I have are from Petsmart and I leave them with the weights, and they have grown roots, and still look great after about 4-5 months.

Because they have an instinct to look for food  at all places, just like most animals do! Note how horses and cows are most of time having their noses buried in grass on the meadows or... well, how goldfish have their snouts in the gravel Wink
