white stuff coming from mouth

I have a 13 year old goldfish that has become quiet poorly. he is sitting at bottom of tank and white fluffy stuff is coming out of his mouth. he is not eating

Does this look like cotton wool ?

Are your water parameters normal ?

It could be a fungal disease. Since the fish is not eating you might consider adding " Jungle Fungus clear"  to the water.

A picture would be helpful and as scrivens has said the parameters of your water would also be helpful and the size of your tank. I agree that it sounds like a fungal infection.

I would think that it sounds like mouth rot, which is a kind of fungal infection. It doesn't necessarily look at all like fungus until you look at it in a microscope.

A cycled quarantine tank and an anti-fungal remedy might be in order, however if the fish isn't eating it's usually a very bad sign..  Undecided
