I have two large goldfish that are 10 yrs old and up to now have had no problems.  Recently, one of them seems to always have his mouth open.  I rang a local fish shop and they told me to look and see if the fish had some gravel in his mouth.  Checked and there's nothing there, but he also said it may be lockjaw.  What happens if it is lockjaw.  The fish is acting normal, eating and very healthy Cry

The goldfish have their teeth quite low, by the gill covers. So if there's an object lodged somewhere there, you should try looking again, and if there is something there, you should try to gently push it out through the gill covers!
But if it is lockjaw, as you call it, I'm afraid I can't help since I've never heard of this condition before :C I could try finding some info about it soon though!
