Goldfish and Koi Show in Indianapolis!

While killing time in my 8am class, I stumbled across a site about goldfish shows in America, and found out that there is one near where I live! The show will be June 19th and 20th, and they are hosting a goldfish division as well as their usual koi show and pond expo. If you live in the area, it might be fun. I would love for Stripe or Spot to take first place in the single-tail division.

Since I'm still a guest, I can't post the link because they're afraid I'm a spammer, but Google "NMZA 2010 Koi Show", and you should find it, along with a PDF for an entry form.
Has anyone ever been in a fish show? What kinds of things are good to know?

There's a show in the southeast this weekend (located in Georgia - USA). Show location is the Georgia Ag and Convention Center Heritage Building

Middle GA KOI Society
Koi and Goldfish Show 2010

Saturday 9:00AM- 5:00PM (April 10, 2010)
Sunday 9:00AM - 2:00PM (April 11, 2010)

It's not too far a drive if you live in Alabama, South Carolina, or Northern Florida. It's a koi show but also has a trophies for goldfish including best oranda, best ryukin, ranchu, etc..

Never heard of shows that kind here in Down Under, but at the same time, we only had our two fishies for about 6 (?) weeks or so. So we did not pay attention, but will keep my eyes and ears open for the future and will let all Aussie Goldfish Lovers on this forum know.

The show would be a good chance to buy show quality and breeding stock from good breeders I would think.
I don't think our fish would qualify for entry because they were probably breeder's culls to begin with and just pet quality stock.

Yeah, I know my fish probably won't win any prizes, but it does sound like something fun to do, and that's the whole point.

Indiana would be a fun trip and not that far from us. Would love to meet some of my fishy friends on this forum someday! Ha ha we could all have a goldfish reunion at a koi goldfish show!! Cheesy

I think there may be one in the California area. I can't remember which site I found the show info on (It was much too early in the morning for thinking!), but I think I did my Google search on either "goldfish shows" or "goldfish shows 2010". If that doesn't work, let me know and I'll poke around the interwebs again.
