The orange and white guy is definately an oranda...you can see the headgrowth. I see the bend in the rear fin...just his genetics, nothing to worry about.
The younger white one I'm not so sure about...orandas develop their wen as they mature, but it looks like yours doesn't have much of one, yet anyways, so he may be a fantail. However, the distance between the eyes may be wide enough to leave room for a future headgrowth.

They are probably too young to tell the gender decisively, but in the mean time they need names.  I don't know what your taste is for names, but I think they look like a Juno and Orion

Now that the tank is finally cycled I am much less stressed about my little guys (or girls).  Just waiting for the right used tank to come along and then they will have a bigger home

I've added peas every day/every other day to their diets as well as blood worms a couple of times a week, the bigger guy's wen has grown even in the last week, I look at him everyday and i can definitely see it starting to develop   Hopefully the smaller one's wen will start to show soon too...i'll keep updates coming. They have both grown and the little one has plumped up even from those pics last week.

I was thinking for names, Finn for the bigger guy (my boyfriend-soon to be fiance's last name) and I'm still thinking about names for the smaller one.  It'll come to me eventually

Finn is SOOOO cute for a fish name!  Love it, and yes, be patient, the other name will come to you sooner or later.  Best wishes for your relationship as well.

As far as names for my other little one...I'm thinking of pretending it's a "She" and naming her Doll or Dolly...then I'll have "Doll" and "Finn"

Thanks Nossie, I'll send updates "when" it happens...I'm 27 and not getting any younger, he is 30...I think it is a good age for us.  I have been too selfish up to this point to want children but I do feel like my time clock is ticking. lol
