I finally got some pictures of my two goldies and my tank.  Smiley

The bigger orange/white guy is an oranda I believe, notice the bend in his rear fin?  He's always had that...the little white guy with the orange on its head is very young so its hard to tell but I believe it is also an oranda?  Any ideas?

I still need to pick good names for them!  And I always refer to them as "he" for some reason...

Oooh very nice fish and pretty tank! I have that amazon sword plant too Smiley
The orange and white guy is definately an oranda...you can see the headgrowth. I see the bend in the rear fin...just his genetics, nothing to worry about.
The younger white one I'm not so sure about...orandas develop their wen as they mature, but it looks like yours doesn't have much of one, yet anyways, so he may be a fantail. However, the distance between the eyes may be wide enough to leave room for a future headgrowth.

They are probably too young to tell the gender decisively, but in the mean time they need names.  Wink I don't know what your taste is for names, but I think they look like a Juno and Orion  Wink

Really cute Smiley

Now when I saw a few photos, I'm pretty sure the white one isn't an oranda. The body is too thin for an oranda too, not to mention that the head is completely smooth and doesn't seem to leave room for any larger headgrowth than usual on goldies. But, don't frown, he's still a really lovely fish, and just as lovable as any oranda Smiley

Your fish are both adorable and your tank is lovely Smiley  The blue gravel contrasts the orange fish beautifully!

Thanks guys, I try Smiley
Now that the tank is finally cycled I am much less stressed about my little guys (or girls).  Just waiting for the right used tank to come along and then they will have a bigger home Smiley

Blue gravel goes great with goldfish indeed, especially these colors Smiley

Hope your tank will come along soon! Wink

I've added peas every day/every other day to their diets as well as blood worms a couple of times a week, the bigger guy's wen has grown even in the last week, I look at him everyday and i can definitely see it starting to develop Smiley  Hopefully the smaller one's wen will start to show soon too...i'll keep updates coming. They have both grown and the little one has plumped up even from those pics last week.

I was thinking for names, Finn for the bigger guy (my boyfriend-soon to be fiance's last name) and I'm still thinking about names for the smaller one.  It'll come to me eventually Smiley

Great to hear! It'd be fun to see some "before and after" pictures of the fish Wink
The baby oranda I bought about a month ago has turned a little bit fat Wink She's battling for food with the big boys and is easily eating more than anyone else o_o Being half their size?!

Congratulations to you and your fiance-to-be Wink

How about "Munch" for a name?... then you would have partners Munch and Finn from Law and Order, Cheesy . Cheers > Ron

haha Thanks for all the kind words, my bf and I have been together almost 3 years and I know it will happen soon Smiley

As far as names for my other little one...I'm thinking of pretending it's a "She" and naming her Doll or Dolly...then I'll have "Doll" and "Finn"   Grin

Cheesy, I know but its a possibility Smiley

Thanks Nossie, I'll send updates "when" it happens...I'm 27 and not getting any younger, he is 30...I think it is a good age for us.  I have been too selfish up to this point to want children but I do feel like my time clock is ticking. lol

Goldfish are a good substitute for children until you decide to have some.  Wink
