Absolutely, I feel like I "know" these fish of yours pretty well hearing all the cute stories about them (: And so they are again, more than a fish on a picture
I think I should introduce you to my mom's goldfish! They're really cool!
(And one of them is so old and tired nowadays, poor old man...)

True, I just prefer this one , it is small, but I LOVE IT. I mentioned before, I am on AC forum too and I registered with the Exotic Fish too, but they are more professional, less personal. I do not post much in those, but I try to read up a lot.
I updated the Greeting List up the top, but I suggest that everyone may list the names of her fishies, so there is no confusion which fishie belongs to whom LOL

Wow Nossie, this is good news.
I do have good news too, My Hubby and me we're going to pick up a 3ft tank with everything for AU$ 100. Which is approx EUR 80.--
Went to the pet shop today to pick up some bloodworms, finished up with a frozen veggie mix too. We had a chat about Humpsi and Hepsi and that the tank starts to be too small and the lady there said, "Go to the foodstore next door, the lady at the till wants to sell her tank 3ft for 100 dollars because they move house and cannot keep their fish"
I felt like Xmas, got red cheeks and hubby big eyes.
So Sunday morning we go and have a look and pick it up. Also arranged with the petshop to take the fish, as they are tropicals, most swordfish and some pregnant. At the moment we cannot keep them too, because we want that tank for Hump and Hep.
Now what I wanna ask you:
As the tank comes with deco, gravel, plants, filter.... how do I clean it the best to make it OK for Humsi and Hepsi..... the environment must be changed from tropical to freshwater ....
And when all is ready for our babies, .... thinking of betta time too ?!?!?!?! in the 34 l tank ? And getting a shubunkin and a calico for their ( Humpsi and Hepsis ) company....
At the moment they have a sale all fish 50% off
Girls, if you just would live next door... you all could share the tropicals

How nice! (: About how big is it liters/gallons then? Or maybe you don't know that yet? (: Either way, it's great! Can't wait to see the new setup!
About cleaning: You could always disinfect it somehow, there might be some special aquarium disinfectant available around
But in general, there ain't really a difference between coldwater and tropical tanks aside from the temperature
Sometimes one just worries less when keeping it simple! xD
About the Betta: Then you should keep the betta alone, or with some smaller fish. Bettas can be hostile towards fish with even similar color or fins, so a Shubunkin (especially a Bristol Shubunkin) might not be safe with this fish. But I do believe that some guppy or mollies or something could work (: (Arr, but it's not like I remember that much of all the things I read about bettas anymore! xD)
But oh, 50% off on all the fish! *_* It'd be the perfect opportunity for me! O__o (as I'm intending to invest in some little something to keep in the Orb.) If only that tank would arrive already >> I calculated that it might be here next week or something

Maybe about 90 liters? 3 ft is not quite 1m long. I am not sure about the volume, lol
Naaaaaaaaaaaaahh thinking to get company for Humpsi and Hepsi; in the new tank 1 Calico, 1 Shubunkin.
And later the betta for the 34 l tank

OOO! Sorry about the misunderstanding! :'D But a 90 liter tank would be more or less 23-24 US gallons, meaning that it would get crowded again if you'd add more fish :C But then again, if you'd be having yet another tank, it might work
Hey, you did have plans for that huuuge one! Right?
A shubunkin would definitely be lovely with Hump and Hep! (:

Yes we still have those plans, then we can sell the 3 ft one.
It worries us the most now for Hump and Hep that the 34 l gets too small.
For 100 bucks with stand, pump, filter, heater, deco, all set up including the tropicals, I think this is a bargain. But the tropicals we have to give to the pet store.
Well let us think about the volume in litres:
3ft long is about a metre. Those tanks are usually 30-40 cm high and 30-40 cm wide, So let's make it average in cm: 100x40x30=120000ccm.... oh, ok, this is more than 90l, LOL
The big one will cost us about AU$ 1300....
No worries about misunderstanding, this is human , LOL you're right.

Hi Hanna,
A 3 ft. tank would probably be a 30 gallon one. Anyway that is what my 3 ft. tank is..
So you probably could get 1 other fish for it with Hump and Heps.
A betta should probably live alone since they can be territorial and attack other fish for their bright finnage as Nossie says.
To disinfect a tank you can use bleach and rinse everything real good with water with extra condtioner added to it, to take the chorine out then.
I also use vinegar to clean my ornaments when they get to covered with algae and tanks when I tear them down.
And also, a good boil in water will kill bad bacteria.
Another thing is Humps and Heps would probably get along with sword tails alright if you wanted to keep them.
They are peaceful freshwater fish and very hardy.
I know, more to think about when your brain is probably spinning by now!

Well, both ways it'd be much like a 120 liter tank, so I think it'd be okay with three goldfish then!
And especially since you're planning to get a bigger tank at some point
