It all depends on the pleco and it's personality, it's size, whether its territorial or greedy (some pleco snatch food from other fish). Generally where a small fish is in a tank with a larger species, there is always a chance of it being accidentally eaten.
From what I've seen fish fry are normally separated to a tank by themselves, where you can monitor their progress and ensure they all get enough to eat. I've never had fish fry myself so I'm afraid I don't know the in's and out's, but this is what I've seen other fish keepers do
