I LOVE THOSE PICS
Mr.Tailer is sooooooo beautiful. Very lovely photos, especially the first one with his reflection in the glass. What camera do you use?

Thank you Hanna
I have a little Nikon coolpix (blue coloured casing) and it takes awesome macro shots which is what I used for these today. I try to avoid flash to get the natural light but it doesn't always create a crisp photo.

Thank you Andrea and Nossie
He is approx. 3 and half inches from nose to tail Nossie. He's tripled in size since coming to live with me. I believe he was more or less starved with my Niece as she didn't know a lot about caring for him and said she'd often not feed him for days
so now he is getting a healthy diet and lots of love and attention. I love him so much ♥

That's wonderful!
Fish work like that, that they simply stop growing if they don't get enough food, so I understand why he's stayed small then and suddenly started growing
Are you feeding him live foods and vegetables along with his staple foods?

Thanks so much my fish-lovin' friends
In addition to his staple pellet, he enjoys his peas and even a tiny piece of apple the other day. Not sure if goldfish are supposed to eat fruit but HE did LOL! I haven't tried anything else as I am still cycling (endlessly it seems) and don't want to pollute the small tank with too much.

Yep, fruit is good for them too
If you want you could try feeding him some orange pulp or water melon too!
I noticed that my fish are pretty fond of banana as well c:
If you want him to grow nicely, you should definitely introduce some live foods to his diet! Something like blood worms, tubifex, brine shrimp, krill, artemia or mussels
They're available both as freeze-dried and frozen! Sometimes also packed in gel, like little bags of cat food
Krill contains carotene and will naturally help his colors get stronger too! So do look out for some of these things
And feed him with it maybe twice-three times a week

April, Mr. Tailer is just beautiful, so gorgeous and the macroshots are perfect.
Will try them on ours, as I bought a good camera for Brian for his birthday and it has that feature too.
Does Mr. Tailer sit still or does he wizz around when you point the camera at him?
Again: HE IS ADORABLE

Thankies
I tried using the new LED lamp on his old tank to get clearer shots without a flash on the macro setting. He wiggles constantly and these 3 pics are the only decent ones out of about 50 I took. It is so much fun to try and get him to 'sit' still LOL I got some cute video too but don't know how to load it on here so I'll put it up on FB.

ahh it is refreshing to know that I am not the only one who doesn't know
I joined webshots years ago and posted some photos of other things like birds and flowers in the garden but haven't been back for ages. I started really getting into photography as a hobby and for fun submitted a winter scene online with National Geographic back in 2007. I took 3rd place out of 5000 submitted woohoo - that was one of those cool moments in life...no pun intended

April, this is beautiful. And I also believe that sometimes black and white photos are much better than coloured ones.

Thank you Hanna. You know what the crazy thing is? This isn't a black and white photo. It wasn't that I was aiming for that effect either - it just sort of happened.

I think he has grown too, that belly is getting rounder
I've never paid too much attention to Ryukin's, as I rarely see them around here and don't know much about them. But they are beautiful, I wouldn't mind have having one.
Great photos too.

Ha ha Andrea yes and thank you! I am calling him a little porkbelly now
This beauty was a hand me down as are some of my bird friends and like them - I adore him. Was in a local fish shop and saw many of these but they were quite a bit younger and smaller. They have some pretty combinations of colours and I so hope to find just the right one to share Mr. Tailer's new home with.

April, That snow picture is absolutely wonderful! I was confused too, as to what it was at first. I love it. At first it looked like metal chain in snow to me and then as you look more closely, the picture changes before your eyes to the bikes and rack buried.
It's fabulous!
Mr. Tailer does look like he's grown and he's even more handsome!
