I got this tank three week ago, for cycling, i used sponge filter from my goldfish tank and bacteria colonize.

at first I wanted to make the aquascape in this tank but I ran out of funds.
My funds are spent on tank and Discus

So just save up a little money!
It's not like they'll suffer without plants
But it will look cozier later when you'll buy some for them

, but as Nossie said, as soon as you have enough funds
get some plants. Fish like them.
... it is like us, we like to live in rooms with cozy furniture, not only with pics on the wall, LOL

OH! About the plants! Be sure to get some that reflect the natural environment of the discus
They have such thin leaflike bodies for a reason
And that is to be able to dart through plants with really long and thin leaves
They are striped also to gain camouflage within the plants. You could borrow some books from the library and check out what kind of vegetation there is in the Amazon river and the like where discus naturally dwell
