My 83 Gallon setup + 8 fish + Horus
« on: September 13, 2010, 08:24:52 AM »

I finally got some photos! This tank's been running for a couple of weeks now Smiley Now I'm just waiting for the plants to grow!!
So, it's an 83 gallon tank, with some mopani driftwood and a load of different plants like anubias and java fern.
Here live:
4 fantails, 2 moors and 2 orandas.
The red fantail would be Hunny, the white one's Cream and the two calico ones are Fläckis and Samantha.
The two moors are called Mr. Popo and Mr. Big (or Nurgle). Obviously, Mr. Big is the bigger one Cheesy
The two orandas are Raspberry and Claymore, Berry being the white and red one and Claymore being the chocolate one.

In other words, Samantha and Nurgle are new fish that I haven't introduced to you yet Cheesy

First pic, shows the whole setup! Sorry about the visible table there, we don't have that much of space around the walls here xD
Second pic shows my new killer filter, that some people wanted to see Cheesy Along with most of the food c:
Third, is introducing Nurgle, or Mr. Big~ He seemed really happy about his new friends and he's been swimming around close to them all day Cheesy
Fourth, my baby calico Samantha and her best friend Fläckis Smiley

Here follow some more random pics of the bunch Smiley
It's such a relief to finally give them some proper space and filtration! D:

Popo was being busy all the time, so he got either very blurry, or he simply wasn't visible! Such a stealthy fish d: But he should be there somewhere Smiley If not, I posted a pic of him in quarantine, for those who haven't seen him yet Wink

It is gorgeous!!
Good job!! Kiss

Thank you!! I'm very happy about it myself! Smiley
And yes, that's the cabinet I was talking about Wink It wasn't completely level though, it was leaning a bit forward, so dad and I put some small pads under the legs to make it straight! And we also had to put some wooden pieces by the middle of the cabinet to distribute the weight of the tank better, but aside from that, it's great Smiley It was only a pretty big pain to paint and such d: I was out for days working on it! (with a bit of help from my fiance)

Thank you, Hanna! Cheesy I must say that I'm feeling very happy about it Smiley It looks pretty much like I wanted it to! (Only with the plants being bigger and more spread, but that'll come with time!)

Did I tell you that Horus has moved back in with the rest of the peeps? Smiley He's all peaceful and nice now! And I'm so happy that I could keep him <3

Beautiful, Hanna!  My favorite pictures are: the three fantails (gee, I wonder why?!) and the orandas - they look like little teddy bears with fins - so cute!

Best wishes with the new tank!

The fantails have a special place in my heart as well :') They were my first very own goldfish that I got for my birthday last year! And I never expected to find any orandas around here in the first place, so I'm really delighted about these two! Cheesy (Not to mention the moors <3 They're the cutest ever when swimming together)
Right, I haven't posted any photos of the pom pom that just moved in from his quarantine! Maybe I should do that, he's five million times as pretty in this big tank Smiley

They're all very cuddly and nice Wink And made of steel xD

That is such a lovely tank Nossie. I bet you have some of the happiest goldfish alive Smiley They are all beautiful fish, I love how you have such a big interest in the round shaped goldfish. Oh and I'm in love with Mr. Big, it's a great name Tongue How big is he exactly? It's hard to tell from the photos. I've never seen a oranda like Claymore either, very interesting.

Hope Mr Big is still being the boss and Horus is behaving himself.

Andrea: Thanks Smiley Mr. Big is about 3-4 inches long, not counting the tail, so he's still about half an inch (or a bit more) bigger than Popo Smiley And so, the biggest moor I've seen (aside from pics).
I simply can't resist those fancy goldfish, they're so cute Wink And I love their tails and fins in general, not to mention that there are so many interesting varieties that are egg-shaped so they can easily share a tank Smiley

Horus is being very nice all the time now! He hasn't even tried to chase anyone around Smiley Not even during feeding Wink

GOOD NEWS, I can see you "sparkle" all over your face Grin.
How old are your gilrs? Maybe you'll have eggs soon, so get yourself prepared LOL.

( We still have our little babies, they are so smart how they hide in the most bushiest "jungle" and so brave too to come out and have a look... ) Grin

Nossie that tanks going to be beautiful once the fish and plants grow up. It amazes me how fast the fish grow. My lil ''Miracle'' was barely a half inch when I first spotted her in May but is already four inches not counting the tail. LOL

I saw a bunch of big moors at the fish shop today, probably about that size and I fell in love all over again Tongue Plus these giant goldfish, which they had called godzilla goldfish haha.

I am also very happy Horus is being a good boy and that the name does suit Mr Big. It is going to look even more amazing when the plants have all grown.

Hanna: They are a little older than one year, probably getting close to two in the case of Berry Cheesy
I didn't check on Sammy yet, since I think he/she is too young to be accurate still Smiley

Deofel: Thanks! Cheesy I think so too Wink I hope they'll all grow much more still!

Andrea: What did the goldzilla goldfish look like? Cheesy And how big were they? c:
I'm really happy that I could keep Horus too Smiley I really like him Smiley

They looked like fantails. They were probably like 30cm long (maybe even bigger, it's hard to tell) with big bellies but not in a bloated way just in a we are big fish way. I might go back and see if I can get some photos to show you guys.

That sounds really cool! Smiley Maybe they were ryukins? Very similar to fantails, but they grow a bit bigger Smiley

I think your going to be surprised at how big they can get. My four year old Moor is nine inches tip to tip and my three year old Oranda is 10 inches and weighs just over three pounds (or about 1.5 kilos). I can only imagine what they will look like in another decade. LOL

Oh crap! I might have to get another tank! xD
But at least my pom pom shouldn't grow very big Smiley And the fantails should be around 6-7 inches, thinking about the size of my mom's 8 year-old fantail Smiley Let's hope they'll still fit Wink
