Water Change

   We have a new 14 gallon tank and have it operating for over a month now. We have 6 goldfish in it. They're about an inch and a half in size. I would like to know if is it okay to change to do water change  twice a week?  Huh


P.S. we are planning on getting a bigger tank later when the goldfish are bigger. Wink

I think it would be enough doing them once a week. About 10-25% of the water at a time (:
But I dunno, you could try seeing if it's needed to change more often! You've got pretty many fish in there after all...

Yep, I can understand that Wink, they swim straight into our hearts, they are too cute and my husband and I just LOVE them.

I cleaned our tank yeaterday, I do this once a week. I realised that after a week the glass starts to show a little algae growing, not all over but on a few spots. This is a sign for me to clean, but as I mentioned, I do it every week. And because we do not have a real big tank, it is a 34 l one with 2 comets about 7-8 cm, I change about 30% of the water and maintain a very good air circulation with an airstone which runs almost across the whole back of the tank.
And we watch our fishies closely, they do not show any discomfort at all, they seem to be "Happy as Larry" Grin

We installed a bigger filter 2 weeks ago and now a bigger pump so hopefully my goldfish will be happy and healthy.  Cheesy

Calico Fantail--Daisy
Fantail-- Fifi
Black Moor--Miki
Ryukin-- Sandee
2 Red Cap-- Lily & Lucky

*Lucky- because she jumped out and hit the floor when the Pet Store owner tried to catch her. We didn't think she was going to make it.*
