I didn't pay a whole lot for these goldfish. I bought them at our local fish store actually. The panda cost me $ 6.99 and the china dolls were $ 5.99 each. It took me over an hour to pick each one. Grin

I'm jealous too, they are so beautiful and some of my dream fish Smiley That's so cheap, my black common was 12 dollars!! Though it's a small family pet shop so their prices are a bit higher and you don't see a black common everyday Tongue

I live here in Southwest Kansas. My favorite fish store ( Fish World) orders his goldfish from China. I bought my orandas, moor, telescope, and china dolls from him. The panda was from the second fish store ( Fins, Feathers, and Furs).

All my fish cost around 6-7€ except the orandas and pom pom which were 10€ Smiley Understandable since they're even more "fancy" than moors and fantails around here Wink They were almost twice the size of the other fish as well Smiley

Mindemae: Maybe because the US dollar is pretty crap at the moment, like it is expected that the Australian dollar is going to be worth more than it. So maybe that is an actual reason  Huh Oh and how far inland is Michigan? The further inland the more to travel I imagine.

Fish are generally pretty cheap here, I was talking about these godzilla goldfish on here a few weeks ago and they were only 20 dollars!! I was expecting them to be over 50 as you don't see goldfish that big very often.

Pandas are gorgeous. But I have read that in nearly every case they don't retain their black and white markings as they grow. They turn completely black or white...and sometimes even orange!
People think the change is either due to poor breeding or change in environmental conditions (light, water temp etc...)
So yeah they are still cute but don't buy a panda moore/butterfly/oranda expecting it will stay the same colour as it most probably won't unless you paid big dollars for it...but even then you never know!
Sufficient lighting and colour enhancing pellets will help to retain the colours, but there is no preventive to the colour change Smiley

I found that out when I researched about panda goldfish. Well this one is my second panda. My first panda changed to all black color. I guess I don't have pandas anymore. Sad

I love my two pandas no matter what, black or white.  Smiley I guess it doesn't matter if I feed them color enhancing pellets they still change colors.  Smiley

OMG lol i got a bunch my fish from there i am reason petworld on west st ordered all those golidies from japan back in summer. they ordered the panda moors at my request for my daughter to pick one lol small world.

Um i think maybe you are in different part of kansas not sure. i am in wichita our petworld was known as fins feathers and fur but i sounds like you are talking of 2 different stores. think they have sister stores in other parts of kansas. but if you are in wichita then that fish was one of the batch they ordered for me lol. here is a photo of her.

Which fish store are you talking about? We only have Fish World and Fins, Feathers & Furs ( they're moving to a new location).
