My new Shubunkin

On the third day of having my new fish i decide i would bother it and take a short video. It is still very shy but already starts exploring its new temporary place (it is now in Q tank together with 2 bushes of Anubias). The previous 2 days I left the fish alone with lights off. Yesterday I fed it a few pellets of medicated anti-bacteria food as at home I noticed his anal fin had a split and treat the water with Melafix for possible infections. Actually the fish does not show any other signs of disease, is active and looks healthy.

Now I need a name for it but I am not aware of its gender. Any ideas on some generic names which might fit a small nimble shubunkin?

Such a cute video, and what a beautiful fish!  Pretty soon he'll be swimming toward you begging for food  Smiley

For torn fins I have been using Fish Protector; put it in once and it does the trick.

For torn fins I have been using Fish Protector; put it in once and it does the trick.

It is not yet swimming to me for food still it's getting accustomed in its new tank swimming around the tank.
It's being cured now and it looks like it is recovering (it seems even it is disappearing).

I like that red spot right by his eye!

Well, it has so many spots on its body and on its left side some of its (observed so far three) scales reflect as if being metallic or mirror kind.

My shubunkin has some scales that are reflective too, like mirrors.  It's so cool.  I love his coloring!

My shubunkin has some scales that are reflective too, like mirrors.  It's so cool.  I love his coloring!

Actually, yes, I find its scales and appearance appealing as well. It's such a peace to see it swimming around the tank.

Today I got two shubunkin and they r great and still alil shy. Abt how old r they do u think? mine r the same size as urs. mine r always looking for food.

sweetgirl: How about posting some photos of them in this section of the forum? Smiley We can't really tell just from "mine r the same size as urs". Usually they're a couple of months old when sold at the stores.
