my fish and tank

I have a few pictures to add ( tips would be good )

I added the fish 3 days ago now and there doing fine they are my first fish and im proud of them
i will be adding 3 more next week some time 2 Shubunkin's and a Comet so that i have 3 of both type of fish
any more i could or should add to the tank decoration wise ?

Nice tank!  Cheesy I love how you have a nice color pallete that goes with the decor. Espetially fond of that tancho comet...the one that's 1/2 white 1/2 red. It looks like you have provided a nice spacious home for them as well.

Thanks man its a hagen 75 ltr but i only put 70ltrs into it

how often do i need to water change ? ( anybody ?)

Your welcome but soon your gonna have to upgrade to a 120 liter so the goldfish won't be stunted and not grow to there adult size of 12 inches.

It's an adorable setup but 75 liter? That's not even big enough for two goldfish.
And you want to keep six of them? Do you know how dangerous that is? :/
Please, take our advice, these are commons/comets so they need a lot of space. I'd get them at least 80 liters each, so for three of them you'll need 240 liter tank.
So there's definitely not anything you should even consider putting into the tank.

The guy at the pet shop (pets at home) said 6 would be max for a 70 ltr but im just going to not go with 6 just 4 ill add another shubunkin i not sure about a 200 odd ltr fish tank for gold fish that seems abit silly  Undecided

and im not in a financial state to afford a 200 ltr fish tank ( im not trying to be nasty to the fish or anything )
and i know it could stunt there growth  Undecided

Don't buy any more fish then!! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!
If you can't afford a bigger tank, please bring two of the fish back to the shop or give them away to someone, otherwise you will kill them.
Goldfish are huge fish that can live for even 20-30 years, they're not 5cm fish like Platies and other tropicals, and this is incredibly important to plan so that they'll grow healthy and nice with no restrictions.
Look at your tank, can you imagine four 30 cm fish in there?

If you can't support big fish, buy yourself a few Black Mollies or Platies. They're very forgiving fish and won't grow as big as goldfish.

urgg pet shop employees he said how big is your tank and i said 70 lts and then i asked him how much of the comets and shubunkins i could add he say's 6

Of course there were many fish in too small tanks there, because they're constantly selling fish. It's a temporary stay for them and they're being moved, hopefully to a good home.
Complaining isn't going to help, you should just try to learn as much as you can for yourself and take proper care of your own fish, that's all you could do.

Sad as it is, the majority of these chain pet stores do not require much, if any knowledge of keeping pets properly. Just know to educate yourself next time.Keeping pets is an amazing experience if you take proper care of them. Good luck with your fish. :-)

very nice tank, love that minimalist colour decor, it goes with the fish... and dont feel too down about the bad advice from the pet store, it happens every week here, overstocked tanks and eventually sick fish, at least you sought advice before your fish got sick... you see the thing about pet stores are that they sell pets, and I have found with most of them animal welfare is secondary to making money and selling you stuff... cheers

Never buy anything live from pets at home!! EVER simples. Also remember than all their stuff is over priced, the staff have no knowledge infact they tried to sell me Bakers once as it was on offer I Was the wrong person to try and do that to!!!!!
I only go in there for tetra water safe stuff, fund my dogs tennis ball obsession and the odd guinea pig treat.


Nice tank thought but like said in 4 months time your gonna want something bigger, maybe get a new one, keep a eye out on Gumtree, Preloved, and Ebay and then you can have two tanks or sell the one your using now.

Convenience I can walk to Pets at Home my LFS that I use (MaidenHead Aquatics) is a half hour trip in the car. And what with the fuel prices at the moment you have to think about these things... Smiley

Dont buy more fish, like Nossie said...I only WISH I had found this forum BEFORE putting 4 fancy's into a 10 gallon tank...I would've saved myself from killing numerous fish.  the fish "expert" at my petstore didnt know anything either and told me that it would be perfectly fine to put 4 fancy goldfish in a 10 gallon tank that wasnt cycled...my fish literally died within a week.  Best of luck and definitely frequent this forum, I have learned SOOOO much here Smiley
