Hi All, some have read about my surprise, but I have new babies. I've never had babies before so this is really exciting and interesting for me. I have a 12 gallon Eclipse tank that I was going to keep for a quarentine tank but with it just sitting empty put 3 playties in it a while back. One orange, two yellow. Then saw some Panda Playties that I fell in love with and got 3 of those. Not sure why, but fish being fish, all of them sporatically died but the orange one. On Friday I told my husband she was probably lonely and I had ever intention in the world to get her some playmates on Saturday but she surprised me and had babies (guess that's one way to cure lonliness) I was floored, put my glasses on just to make sure I really was seeing babies and yep, there they were. I really needed to clean out the tank and that was my project for Saturday, so I tried to get up as many babies as I could so I didn't suck them up in the vac. In the first picture they all look orange, but it's just the lighting of the picture, I have some that are really dark, and some that look yellow.
Then when I was getting ready to put the filtration system back in (it's a bio wheel that sits under the hood), the bottom part broke off that holds the hose to bring the water up, and I was thinking to myself, "well, this is just great, no filtration, my babies are going to die" Then it dawned on me I ordered a bigger pump for my new aquarium when I got it, (but kept the 30 gallon pump that came with it) just in case, so I took some of the bio media from the bigger pump, had to cut a square out of the tank top so the HOB pump would sit on the lip and thankfully it worked. I actually like this pump better. So, after freaking out thinking I was going to lose everyone, all is well again. Babies went back in the tank with mom, it's clean for now, and I bought a new floating plant which everyone, especially mom seems to like. There is a picture of the tank with the pump hanging off the side, not too attractive, but got to go with whatever works

and then mom happy in her new hide-a-way. Thanks for letting me share my new additions with you. Oh, and I do have more than I originally thought I did. They are so fast and small it's really hard to catch them when their on the move and hiding in the gravel
