Losing shubinkins

I have a large outside goldfish tank and my shubinkin go missing.  Do you think they are more attractive to birds because of their colour.  They are the only fish I have lost in 5 years.

Could be herons? They are known for snatching fish out of ponds. There are some deterrent methods, I only know of putting a net over the pond... but I think I've seen using wire mentioned and a few others. Perhaps do a google search and see what you can find Smiley
