hi everyone, i bought myself orange and white tailed telescope goldie last saturday.
i gave him his home, anyway tonight i started to change his water cause of the ammonia building up in the tank.
I put the tube in the water my fish came up to it and the it stuck to the tube, and it gills ripped off and eye started to come away from his socket.

So i absolutly feel dreadful about killing him.

That is horrible. I feel for you. I keep my 2 fish in the tank when I do water changes and clean the gravel but I am so careful I always have an eye on them so they dont get near the tube.

i have a new goldie called googles but now i change the water with a jug,
its safer for to use so i dont have any more accidents.

@lisag, I am so upset to hear that tragedy of you accidently sucking up your fish under a vacuum tube cleaner, well you didn't mean it and it was unexpected, yes it's dangerous and sounds like we need to be extra carefully and alert about it,
and @Swishee is right you must nudge it away if it came near your suction tube. (wow, what an expert on the tip!!)
Ohhh, I need to get myself one soon  the vaccum pump cleaner tube (I am not good with precise name I use my own way of saying it haha), and I am a beginner in all this.
LOL having fishes are fun especially when I put the aquarium beside my bed,
I love lying on the bed and watching my fishes it's so wonderful to see them where I spend most time with my two cats (in my bedroom). The lid on my aquarium is helpful protecting it against the cats paws now they can't stick their paws in it.  

D: thats positively dreadful. I feel for you. I dont know what I would do if I accidently harmed either my pearlscale or my fantail as they're fins are growing long and lovely I've become fairly paranoid that they will be harmed while cleaning they're tank (which I must do often since its much to small for both of them) Maybe you should think about seperating you're goldies from the tank when you clean it. Thats what I do. Mine go in a fish bowl until Im done with the vacume to assure no tearing of they're fins. To be sure they dont get over stressed I also put them in a dimly lit room.

Again so sorry to hear about you're telescope, be extra careful with them because they are very delicate around the eye sacks which are easy to catch on pointed objects and tear.
