am new to the forum and would firstly like to say hi to all.
here's the help bit,i bought a couple of lionheads? 5 months ago both were about1/12" long,they are now about 3" long  the only thing is neither of seem to not be developing the typical lionhead cap.both of their heads are quite smooth.how long does this take to develope?
the one in both photos is the bigger of the two(the other wouldn't stay still!)as can be seen it's head doesn't appear to have any growth

You have very healthy looking goldfish and a nice aquarium setup from the pictures. Congrats Grin



For most speciments, the cap or head growth will not appear until around the 2nd year. Once the growth appears it will not stop growing until the fish is a little over three years of age.  However in some cases, the head growth will appear as early as a year. Since your goldfish are still so young, i doubt any of them has any head growth yet.

thanks for that was starting to wonder if they were actually lionheads as the same shop have young lionhead orandas but their caps are already pretty well developed.
the tank i have is a 140 ltr long with a fluval 205 680 l/h external filter and a 700 l/h internal jet filter with the outlet directed against the back of the tank,so it doesn't blow the fish around.whole setup works well,water is perfect and crystal clear.
