I just recently purchased two shubunkin goldies (1/2 inch to 1 inch in size) im assuming babies but not really sure of thier full size potential ,well anyway i put them in a 30 Gal. are they okay with me running a aquaclear 50 Powerhead or is that to much water movement / current for a shubunkin. I am new to goldies but not to the fish hobby I always kept cichlids, but it is my first attempt at goldfish, try something new right, i devoted my 30 gal. to them wish me luck!!! Oh and i keep the tanks water temp. at a steady 71-73 is that ok for a shubunkin. Great Site Much Needed research was found here prior to me setting up my 30 gal. for the two goldies. Thanks in Advance. -Steve-

They can grow to about 12 inches in length (sometimes bigger if kept in a pond.) I do think that your tank should be just big enough for your fish (: But I think you'd notice if they outgrow it later somehow.
I don't know much about this filter though : D *sorry* I don't think it would be much of a problem as long as there are places where the fish can rest, away from the current.
Good luck with them fish! (:
