So I know there has been a million threads about this but....
Today I was at Pet Barn (big chain pet store in Australia) and there were so many sick goldfish. I wanted to take them all home.
But there was one that stood out he was a gorgeous calico ryukin who was huge...he was about the size of my hand. I have never seen one so beautiful. He looked like one of the show ones you see on the net.
Poor thing had a swim bladder problem and fin rot Pretty easy to fix but the people at the shop were probably clueless.
I don't even know if he was for sale...But if he was the shops fish then I just don't understand why they would not look after him. I bet he was expensive too.

The pretties ones that you want the most, and then you don't bother after all because you're not sure if they'll even survive... man, have I been through that before D:

Maybe it was a hospital tank he was in and they were treating him?
Maybe if you go back there you could inquire?
The reason I say this is because our Mom and Pop petshop have individual tanks with fish in and I've seen them treating a tank, actually an oscar fish that had some fungus, one time when I was in there.

That is a gorgeous fish.. I'd take him home and treat him myself, if I had the tools (cough cough another tank... irritates me that i only have the one lol) But yea, ask and see if they'll treat him for you. Tell them you'll charge them for cruelty to animals or something... Cause really, letting a sick fish stay sick is cruelty.

That is so nice!  I would adopt him too!
Not many people would adopt a sick or injured fish and he deserves a nice life too!
