bubbles
« on: June 02, 2010, 08:48:38 AM »

Hi everyone my first post and a little query, My fish house is a polytunnel affair with fibreglass tanks each approx 5ft* 2ft* 1ft deep all with filters  in various state of maturity.
Question , why if i use an airstone in the tanks do i get profuse amounts of bubbles on the surface , they are quite small and burst easily and clear when stone removed but it does stop you admiring the fish.
I have tried different stones and settings ,could it be as a result of protein like on bottom of weirs?
any suggestions would be welcome.
Great site by the way
regards coldte

Are you adding any additives, conditioners to your tanks?  I'm having trouble invisioning this set up of yours.  Would you be able to post any pictures here for us to see?  It sounds like something I've never seen before.
