Thanks, I have a mission at work tommorow then haha Cheesy She has some platy's and I'm going to work out whether they are female or male, they must all be the same as I've never seen babies.

You sort of can see the difference in those pics in this thread. The males gonopodium looks like a pin, but you can see Esmeralda's fin clearly Cheesy

LOL, fantailer, set up a tropical tank and get a few males and a few females Grin here you go, you'll have babies in no time.
Apparently if you feed them well, they won't eat the fry... but at the same time not overfeed and have water tests more often and water changes accordingly,  Grin

They're so small too that a 10 gallon would easily support three or four pairs of fish Smiley (A pair being two females and a male)

Guppies breed several times a month, so no d:
They give birth to live young as well, so no worries about eggs Smiley

And the babies are "smart" they hide straight away in the plants. I've got lush green plants with dense foliage, also some floating on the top. Counted about 13 babies today but suure there are more kicking around as Angelique is very slim today, so is Ginger and Mimi.

I think I better get a tray of bottles with babyfood, lol

Wow, Oranda Lover, tell me more please,

I think I spotted 3 guppy babies, they are SOOOOOOOOO SMAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLL Shocked
Rose must have had some Leanne and Carbonara are still soooooooooo fat and square looking Shocked Roll Eyes

haha, sorry I haven't been here in a while Hanna! But I'll tell you - so basically I started with guppies in 1st grade when i brought home a guppy from science class. I got another couple guppies in a 10 gallon tank. A couple months later when i woke up in the morning *voila!* There were dozens of babies! So I got another tank (the 20 gallon I now keep my goldies in) and that became the breeding tank. I even developed my own strain of guppies that had flowy tails spotted with black and shaded with orange and green!  Grin
I had to stop later though, because I would have needed so many more tanks! lol, but I still need guppies.

Your guppies are beautiful Hanna, great job! Definite karma!

No, I haven't Oranda Lover. We just started with the tropical tank about 2 months ago, the most 3 months. The females we got already were pregnant.

But in the meantime we have more than a dozen new babies, the java moss is wiggling in yellows, lol
