Introducing Izzy!

We went to the pet store to get our fish a new plant...and ended up taking one more home. Smiley  It's a sarosa comet with a silver body and a big red-orange patch on its head that kind of makes is look like it has a wen from a distance.  We named him/her Izzy, as in "is he a boy or a girl?", "is he going to get along with our fish?", etc.  He's a baby, and about half the size of the other three, but once he got his bearings, he schooled with the other three, dug in the gravel with them, and even was bold enough to nudge domaneering Spot out of the way!  He/she seems to be fitting right in and making friends.  Video coming soon!

Hi Nicole,
Congratulations to your new family member.
Glad to hear Izzy is doing well. Cannot wait to see some pics of him/her Wink and of the whole tank  Cheesy

The other thing is: Didn't you keep Izzy in a hospital tank for about 1-2 weeks, just to make sure you didn't  introduce a disease with your fish from the pet store? All sites I read up do recommend this.

Anyway just keep an eye on your fishies, if they still are happy wiggling arround for the next 2 weeks and no change in behaviour all should be fine.  Wink

Yeah, I think we forgot about the hospital tank in our excitement.  Wink
It's so cute how Izzy is copying the other fish.  He/she was in a tank all alone, swimming about nervously.  I think Izzy is thrilled not to be an "only fish" anymore.

Yay, Nicole, this is a lovely video and so cute to get to know your fishies. All are so lovely and real "diggers" like our Humpsi and Hepsi  Grin

And Izzy, isn't he sweeeet, so little, but he'll grow as he's busy finding food.... lol

I enjoyed this video, ENJOY YOUR FISHIES

Commons have shorter tails and comets have long flowing fins and tails.  Your Sonorus is a comet. Smiley

Our Humpsi and Hepsi are Comets too, their tails are really lovely and flowing in the water stream, almost like veils  Smiley
