The middle fish looks like a comet goldfish with nice long fins, but i can 't be sure until i see it from a different angle, preferably a side view.  The goldfish to the left appears to be just a common goldfish.

Thanks for you response.  The side view looks to be a comet, he's long and thin so I don't think he is a fan tail.  I am hoping he can winter over in the pond, we live in Connecticut.  The tail and fins are long so I'm not sure he has the stamina to handle the winter in the pond.  It's hard to get a shot of any of them, my camera isn't that great and they do move fast.

Those comets can get pretty big too, around a foot length wise in a pond or large aquarium.

Katarine: Fish that live in a pond during summer grow more and get much stronger colors due to the natural food they find (bugs) and because of the sunlight (: But fish can grow a whole lot in aquariums too! Yesterday my grandma told me about an oranda she saw not long ago that was almost 30cm long Wink

Generally: It might just be a sarasa comet, they usually have this orange coloration (: Even if the fish will survive the winter perfectly, it's still adviceable to bring them indoors over the winter to allow them to thrive! Goldfish are coldwater fish, indeed, but it's proven that they prefer temperatures above 20 degrees, to be healthiest possible (:

Fish can be left in ponds all year round provided that the pond is at least 24 inches deep and will not freeze solid.
You can buy a pond heater or use a stock tank heater that keeps ice from forming on the top of the pond so there is a gas exchange.  I have 10 year old fish that I have kept in a pond all year round.  Since we live in Northern Michigan it gets below freezing quite often here and the fish do fine.

I dont think there are many pond keepers up here in Canada... gets to minus 50 sometimes.. personally I dont think a heater's gonna help much in that weather. I'll just keep Sonorus in the 20 gal I've got (which im introducing her to today <3)

Well, I know people in Canada who have goldfish ponds.  They keep their fish in their ponds year round.
I don't think Canada weather is much different than here in Michigan.  I have no idea what Finland is like but you might find some people who keep a pond year round there too.
Anyway, I think you can keep a pond almost anywhere provided that it is deep enough.  The ground acts as insulation for the water and the fish.

Yep, that's most probably the case! Although, in one of my books I read that goldfish will stay considerably healthier if kept in a warmer temperature all year round. For example, it said that they are more prone to swim bladder problems if kept in cold temperatures. But this is only the personal experience of the author (: (a veterinarian who is specialized in goldfish care)

I mean, provided you dont hit the perma-frost HAHAHAHAHA just kidding. Both My fish are doing amazing in that new tank by the way. I think Sonorus has OCD though. She REALLY likes those bubbles, and now shes obsessed with the filter (which makes tiny bubbles). And Tiger just chases anything that moves (food particles, bubbles rising from the gravel, peas) It so cute to watch. I`m trying to get a video on here, but its. not. uploading. Tongue

Aww! My babies go crazy whenever they accidentally get over the bubbles xD I don't think they like the sensation of them tickling their little bellies ;P

hahah Sonorus just sits in the bubbles and swims through them. She even EATS the bubbles! I always shake my head.. theres an abundance of food and yet, Sonorus preferrs eating bubbles and food particles that fall in between the stones.. Tiger eats the peas I drop ALL the time. I tried coaxing Sonorus to try the peas... Nope. I might try orange next.. FRIG SONORUS! STOP BEING A PICKY EATER! Tongue

Be careful with the orange! It's  terribly healthy for your fish of course, but you can't leave it in for too long, it will pollute the water with all the acids and juices in them c:
