Did you test your water for nitrate? One symptom from nitrate poisoning is that the veins in the fins (and on the body) can appear swollen, the skin would also look streaky and the fish might not want to swim about too much. The biggest problem with high nitrate levels is that it's pretty dangerous for your fish's immune system. (It may also cause swim bladder problems, but this is still not scientifically proven.) So first of all, check this nitrate, and while you're at it, have a look at the nitrite, ammonia and pH, to make sure that the water is good (:
Now, if your nitrate levels are high, perform a water change immediately and test your water again next day. Try adding some live plants to your tank as soon as you can as well, and leave algae to grow on rocks and the back side and sides of your tank. Plants and algae consume the harmful substances in your water.

If your water is fine, you might have to deal with parasites or bacterial infection, so try treating your water with salt (move the fish to a separate hospital tank if possible. If not, remove the live plants if you have any before you start adding the salt.) First of all, look at the instructions on how to dose the salt if there are any. If not, you should start dosing 1 tablespoon per gallon of water (first dissolve the correct amount in a little bucket with aquarium water before adding it to your tank). Split the dose up in 3 parts so the fish will get used to the salt slowly to avoid stress. Give one dose every 12 hours.
This salt concentration should help against most parasites, diseases, and to relieve stress on your fish.

I treat for 7 days and then do a 25% water change and continue if neccessary......However the Pet shop did discuss I do the salt tmt after the 7 days........So will keep you posted on outcome........Thanks again........... ,
