Um, went "crazy" after returning Coco I to the store and bought 3 new fish......
« on: March 10, 2010, 01:28:47 AM »

Sad  I returned my little sickly fish "Coco" to a local privately owned fish store that takes 'em in, as I could tell the future would be grim staying with the other 6 feisty hooligans that call my tank home, but then it just looked so empty, and I've been wanting to add a red and white Ryukin.....so 5 pet stores and half a day's work later I found a healthy looking Ryukin of the "Coco" color strain (so we tell my 4 year old they gave him fishy vitamins and he's much better  Roll Eyes - well, I'm sure he will be....) as well as 2 more Shubunkins.....now this brings my total to 9 fish in my 60 gallon tank, which I know is pushing the envelope.....but I got another filter, so I've got 2 now, the 350 GPH and another 200 GPH. The fishes are still pretty small and all seem very happy. I should be ok for a while yet with the increased filteration, does anyone agree? Maybe another year or two before I need to upsize to 100 gallons?  Please send any questions, comments or concerns to 'Um, went "crazy" thread responses' at petgoldfish.net, found in the Health and Illness section of the Fish Health Forum section..... Oh Yeah, they should be fine in the 60 gallon tank with the extra filter system going.
I have 9 in my 55 gallon tank and they are all fine.  Some are big fish too.
Extra aeration and extra filtration all help to keep the tank cleaner and disease free and the fish happy and swimming. Grin
Hope Coco has a happy life.  Probably the return was the best thing to do unless keeping him by himself forever!
Well good luck with the new fish and post pictures soon! Wink
