« on: October 07, 2015, 04:29:10 PM »

Hi everyone,

I noticed a white (I think it was red earlier today) mark on my Goldfish Mica's gill today.  We think it might have happened yesterday when she bumped into the side of her tank really hard.  Sometimes she'll do that but it's not something she does every day or anything.

I filled out the information from the sticky thread and I will post it here now:

1. How big is your tank:  Gal / litres
20 Gal
2. For how long has the tank been set up:
3 years
3. How many fish:

4. What kind of fish:
(Common?) Goldfish
5. What are the water parameters:    Ammonia.........ppm
                                                            Nitrite..............ppm
                                                            Nitrate.............ppm
                                                            pH..........................
                                                            Temp...............degrees Celsius / Fahrenheit
Not sure
6. How often do you perform water changes:
Once a month
7. How big are your waterchanges:      .....................%
90% changed water
8. What kind of waterconditioner are you using:
Tetra Ultra Care
9. Do you add beneficial bacteria:
No
10. Symptoms your fish is showing:
A wound on her gill, a white dot the size of a pinhead
11. Since when does your fish show these symptoms:
I noticed it today

12. How is the normal behaviour of your fish:
Floats around.  She often lurks on the bottom of the tank.  She also opens and closes her mouth often at the top of the tank
13. How do the other fish behave:
No other fish
14. Post pics of the sick fish:

15. Do you have a filter on your tank, what kind, how big (gallons per hour)
Tetra filter.  Designed for a 20 gallon tank.
16. Do you provide extra aeration with an air pump and air stone/diffuser of some kind.
No
