How long are fantails?
« on: November 15, 2010, 06:11:23 AM »

I am going to keep two in a 10 gallon tank and move them to a 40 gallon tank with one sarasa comet. Is that enough?

A goldfish needs 10 gallons minimum, now, fantails can grow to be around 6-8 inches so a 40 gallon should be alright.
But I'd advice you not to put them in with the comet, because he/she may end up bullying the fantails due to their body shape. Fantails are also slower swimmers so they may end up getting no food as well.

It's much better to keep round-bodied fish to themselves and common goldies with themselves.
