partial water changes

If I have sand for substrate, how often should I do a partial water change?

50% once a week for goldfish, regardless of the substrate Smiley Just be careful not to suck up the sand Wink I find hovering a gravel cleaner a little bit above the sand is enough to suck up any mess or dirt!
