NEW FISH! PLUS ILLNESS HELP!!!

my goldfish tiki, died a while ago. and, i had two replacements, tiki2 and mimi, 2 fantails who lived with pearl. but, the two fantails died two days ago
so anyway, ARE THERE ANY ILLNESSES ONLY  Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry Cry
so i was wondering, ARE THERE ANY ILLNESSES THAT ONLY FANTAILS CAN GET?Huh?

anyhoo, earlier today, i got a new goldfish (not a fantail).

his name is..............

FANTA RUSTYFINS (FANTA FOR SHORT)
so anyway, ARE THERE ANY ILLNESSES ONLY FANTAILS CAN GET???

Fantails can get all the same illnesses as other goldfish.

None specific to fantails, as you know, fantails are simply a goldfish with different looks, they all have the same latin name, so technically, they're the same fishes.

Did you test the water when the fish died? How often do you change the water and how much?
Did you see any strange things on your fish, weird behavior, wounds, tufts of white fluff, spots...?

yes they were quite weird behaviour. mimi seemed to have lost her balance and they both looked horribly fat

Thats swim bladder and dropsy. Dropsy is very hard to treat so i dont really know how to treat it. But with swim bladder feed skinned peas.

Dropsy can also make the fish seem like it has swim bladder, due to fluids pushing on the organ. That's what happened to one of my fish before she died, and all she had eaten was peas.  Sad

Bloated, eh? Could be anything from dropsy, to nitrate poisoning, to internal parasites or bacterial infection.
Would you please answer the previous questions as well? I'll repeat:
Did you test the water when the fish died? How often do you change the water and how much?

Nossie is right, it may not be dropsy. If the scales were standing on end and 'pineconing', then that's definately dropsy..
