Please, please, please don't get a bowl if you choose to buy a goldfish! They CANNOT sustain the life of a goldfish for much more than a few months (rarely they live up to a year in a bowl). However, with 10 gallons per fish, good filtration, and an owner who loves them enough to care for their well being they can live 20-30+ years. They make great friends and can stay around for a long time

Glad to hear the fish where you are are healthy. Some chainstore workers can't barely tell a live fish from a dead one.

Keep in mind that goldies are a big investment, not just the fish but the equipment too. Hope this helps

If you want keep fish in a bowl, try Betta splended. They are beautiful fish, but only one fish each bowl (for male).
Ussually Betta lovers, keep this fish in small tank. Betta respitory system is unique, you don't have aeration, just give them open area to get oxigen from the air.

I get all my fish supplies and fish from PetSmart. I like the fact that they know what they are doing and I'm always calling them with any concerns lol They even know my face and stop and chat about my fish.
