Just a quick question guys.

I was doing my tank maintenance yesterday and thought I'd give the gravel a good hoovering, so moving driftwood and things out of the way.
But when I picked up the elodea, I up-rooted it. I had no idea the roots had grown so much into the gravel XD
I just wondered will the plant be okay if I bother it like this every few weeks?

The roots were quite long and twirly from growing around the gravel, so I buried them back under the gravel as best as I could. But just wondered how you guys deal with plants that do this?

I am so impressed with the elodea, it's growing quite nicely in some places and with the roots everywhere, it seems hopeful that it will keep up with Lucky's appetite 

My goldfish up root mine every week or so. So I think yours will be fine.

My plants are all stuck to the gravel in a fashion that no force in the universe could move them (except my hand), so I can pretty easily clean in and around the plants whenever necessary. But it's not too good to be going so close to the roots if the plant obviously hasn't rooted itself properly yet, leave a few centimeters of gravel from the base of the plant to the siphon when cleaning, at least for a while and try getting closer again later
