Could some one help me with my black moor Jandal?
He is floating sideways, his fins are clamped.
I am a fairly novice fish owner but his mate Sandal is swimming really well fins all extended
and in a tank 20 litres with 3 small minows.
I have been feeding them fish flakes, usually every two days.
I have removed Jandal from the tank and isolated him - is that the right thing to do??

That's insane!! Buy a new tank right away or give the goldfish back to the pet shop :/
The moor is probably ill because of the lousy water quality in the heavily stocked tank you're squeezing them into.
Where are you keeping the sick fish right now? Is he in a proper tank with good filtration/aeration??

That is a crazy small tank, and unfortunately the pet shops give bad advice.  People should do at least some basic research before buying a goldfish, but there are all kinds of people in the world. Some are kids, some are elderly, and some have very few internet or computer skills, and some have never been in a forum before.

Nossie has expert knowledge and experience. As you can see, she is very passionate about proper goldfish care, and I am thankful for her input.

"That's insane" doesn't mean that I am JUMPING at the person, it means that I am generally upset about the d*mb advice that keep popping out of pet shops! It sickens me, people buy fish because they have this idea that it'd be fun to keep them, and then some d*mb **** at the pet shop tells them "Keep 4 goldfish in a bowl, they'll be fine", ruining the idea that fish keeping is easy and fun once you get a good start! That's what happened here, people get attached to their fish, sad that they're sick, and the pet shop sells some medication when everything they'd need is a bigger tank :/ It's in no way a personal assault, and... well, one's gotta be pretty sensitive to take it as such
Mind you, even when we try (believe me, we HAVE all the time) to be kind to newbies who want help with sick fish, they never really get it anyway, and most of the time, they don't even come to check the answers. If one cares about the fish, an "angry fish lady" on a forum shouldn't stop ya
