Please help.

I have been away for a week and my mum and dad looked after the fish for me. I just went to feed them and noticed that my loach has attacked one of my platy babies, her fins are all torn up and her bottom lip is missing. She was swimming fine but I moved her into the quarantine tank, so she didn't have to compete for food (I moved the danios to the 180L before I moved her) I did a water change and I have added some melafix. Is there anything else I can do for her? Any advice is welcome.

How is she eating? I don't think you can do much else but to feed her nutritious foods that she likes and keep the water quality good, the Melafix probably also helps
But if there are no other symptoms of disease there isn't much to add.

Thanks Nossie, she is swimming around normally now and she is eating. She is still very timid as if she is on edge. That might be because she is on her own. I know platy's aren't ment to be but I don't want her to get out competed for food. Should I add another female in with her or leave her on her own for now?

Platys are nipping a lot on everything. I would rather not put another one with her at this point, just in case the other one would start bullying her or something. Just be sure to give her lots of places to hide! Some thick java fern or some hollow decoration would probably help her feel safer

There are two hollow decorations in there and there are plants for her to hide in. She seems a bit brighter today swimming around. She still prefers it to be dark in the tank though. She is used to light she has had it since she was born but she seems to be more skittish when it is now. I have still been turning the light on just not for as long as normal. I want her to feel safe and happy. Someone told me I would be better to put her out of her misery but I don't want to if I don't have to, I want to give her a chance. What do you think Nossie? I haven't had to deal with anything like this before.

You'll notice if she's really suffering. You don't need to euthanize her if she's eating normally and getting better, of course
