Why do YOU love your fish???

Everyone has their own reasons for why they love their scaley pet. I want to know what makes you so devoted to your friend! Is there some little personality quirk that makes you smile? Is it the way it moves its fins? Tell why you love your fish. Cheesy

Example: I love my fish Panda Puff because she likes to swim backwards. It makes me laugh when she backs out of a tight space or launches herself in the opposite direction intended, and I always get a kick out of when she zips backwards to avoid being bumped into by another fish.

I love my comet Enchilada because his lips are like a vacuum! Sometimes he'll suck at the gravel and his lips are so long! I need to take a picture of that.  Kiss
I love my ranchu Ranchy because he'll nibble at my fingers if the tips touch into the water. I also love him because he eats a ton. :-)
I love my oranda Lovebug because she'll just follow around the other goldies!
Does anybody else think it's odd that things like ranchu are underlined in red, meaning they were spelled incorrectly...on a goldfish board?  Huh

I love my Ryukin Tailer for the way he always wiggles with delight when I walk in the room. He seems genuinely happy to see me! I also like the way he sucks a tiny sticky banana ball off the end of my finger  Grin Lately when I've had my hand in the tank cleaning, he gently nudges me with his nose as if to say "leave that be and go make me a sandwich!"

rranchuandorandalover: No, the spellcheck doesn't seem to like any Japanese names on goldfish varieties, no matter what Smiley

I love my fish because they're incredibly beautiful and pretty funny and entertaining to watch Smiley They also have the sweetest personalities Wink
Oh, and my moors, they're the cutest when they get overly excited and bump nose-first into the side of one of the other goldies! Cheesy

I love my goldfish because...I just do lol Nibbler always nips at my arm then swims away when I'm cleaning the tank, sorting plants out etc. I have a betta that always comes to say hi to me when I'm near the tank and swims near my finger when it's hungry and wants food. Little things like this make me think 'Fish aren't actually as st*pid as ppl seem to think'. Each of my fish acts differently and has their own personality. I like watching them as well.

How adorable! And really, goldies aren't st*pid people  Roll Eyes some say their memory lasts a time span of  like 3 seconds...thats complete rubbish  Tongue Mine always come to greet me when I walk in the room, even if I've been gone ALL DAY.

Aww, cute.

I love all my goldies! Batal is one of my favorites because he's so gentle and affectionate. He'll let me cup him out of the water in my hands and pet him, and handfeed him.  Wink I think he just wants attention!

Goldiegirl: I know! It's so ridiculous how lots of people say goldies only have 3 second memories - it's been scientifically proven that that's not true!

Fish in general have pretty good memories! Smiley They learn to associate smells, sounds and looks pretty easily, especially if they're being "exposed" quite frequently. So when it comes to teaching them tricks for instance, you have to remember to let them do these things a few times a week so that they'll remember it Cheesy

thats soo true. I love my fish for that reason. They know when I come into the room, and they know when feeding time is. Little Tiger makes me so so happy because hes such a suck for the camera XD Sonorus is a beautiful fishy with her fins... my goodness XD

I love my fish because they don't talk back. they don't meow all day long. they don't bark, they don't whine. They are just happy little creatures. I love my fish because they each have their own little personality. teetsy turned her back on us when we took out her plants before the move. She was copping a "princess" attitude. I love how they come and great me every time I walk past the tank and I love how they give my me little finger kisses when I'm either testing the water or giving them food. They give me pleasure and they take the stress out of my life.
