New to site just wanna say hello to everyone very good info.

as the topic says get info before you buy any fish it's better if you know what your getting yourself into before hand.

I have a 10gal after cycling it for 7 weeks yay! was ready for some fish so after thinking of what type of fish we wanted my 2yr yells out GOLDFISH!!! dadda so I said ok put your coat lets hit the pet co.
 so I ask the the young lady that works there would a 10 gal tank be ok for 4 goldfish she said sure so we get the 4 went home float the bag over the tank after 1hr drop them in my son was sooo happy so was I my son stood there for 2 hrs just looking at them lol

on the 2nd day I notice 2 of the fish had some type of white fuzzy patch on there scales to me looks like fungus of some sort so I got fish meds out drop 1 powder packlet every 24hr for 4 days most likely I might do 7 days just to be sure they get cured.
 day 3 notice some of the fuzzy patch its clearing up and it is on the floor of the tank so use a turkey sucking thingy to get it out. so now what I'm reading is 1 goldfish needs 10gal so now I have a 2nd tank that we had for a bit in the closet I'm cycling that one now and will move 2 of them to that tank once the cycling is done as they grow I will get them 55gal So knowing the right info from a good source always helps do a little of collecting data on your own then going with non-exp.

I'd say, that if you can, you should try to get the 55gal asap! Even if the goldies are still small, they need space! They're incredibly messy fish, so really, it'd just be easier for you to take care of one big tank instead of two small ones
