Hi need urgent help have just noticed one of my beautiful fantails has one protuding eye have read many articals has only just happened the last day or two am now a bit confused as what to do could it be the onset of dropsy or just popeye how can i treat has no protuding scales but is a little fat but was that shape to begin with really donrt want to lose this fish can somone please help   very concerned

A sign dropsy is when a fish’s belly bloats noticeably and the scales stick out like a pinecone. If you don't see this then it's probably not dropsy.

Your fish could have popeye disease since you said it has a protruding eye. There is no cure for popeye but if the fish is eating and swimming normally then it should be ok.
