Hey Andrea, I am so happy to read this.... at the same time I am dissappointed due to the fact, that wherever we go to the fish stores, we hardly get the right information.

I am glad we can share all our info on here, it is such a great help and support Wink

So it may be back Sad I just noticed it then, a read mark on Sunshine's left ventral fin, where it originally started. It is very very faint, I'm surprised I noticed it, it is just a faint red line.

I believe this is a disease that seems to pop up in the heat as that is how it originally started and yesterday the tank was at about 28/29 degrees celsius. I must take more action in cooling it down as obviously my fishies don't like it warm. Clementine also has a rip in her dorsal fin Sad

I may post photos later just for you guys to have a look. I'm going to do a water change and treat with some aquarium salt and pimafix. Do you think that is a good idea or should I leave the treatment or treat with something else? I really don't want to treat with the tetracycline again, it is not a fun medication and I'll only resort to it again if it gets bad.

To think I was going to move Clementine today or tomorrow Sad She needs to get out of that tank!

Andrea,
Did you test your water parameters?
I would do that first, change out water and try to cool the tank down and wait and see if it clears up on it's own.
The problem with the high temps in the tank is that bacteria like it warmer so they can rear their ugly head.
However, Sunshine may be able to fight them off on her own with pristine water conditions and the water being a bit cooler. Smiley

I'm just about to go test both waters. Last time I checked Sunshine's was everything at zero and Clementine's was ammonia and nitrite zero and nitrates probably about 30. I'll post up the new results as soon as I do it Smiley

I think may just have to have ice bags floating constantly in both tanks  Undecided I am beginning to hate summer! I never thought I'd say that Tongue

I am hoping what you said is true and I was thinking that too Smiley So no treatment for now unless it gets worse?

You could feed medicated food but I would get the water quality perfect and cooler first before treating.  Also, add more beneficial bacteria to your filter media, too.
Wait a couple of days and see if it clears up on it's own.  Of course if it worsens then you going to have to treat. Smiley

You know the problem with medicated food here  Wink I had to do a water change before I got to test Sunshine's water so I'll wait a bit before I test it. I added salt to the tank just as a precaution and I got both tanks down to about 26-27 degrees.

I did test Clementine's water which is ammonia:0, nitrite:0 and nitrate: 20-40 (real orangey red probably closer to 40). I only did a water change for Clementine yesterday so the high nitrates are a bit annoying. I'll do a siphon tomorrow and maybe treat with some aquarium salt/pimafix depending on what the tear looks like.

Ohhhh *d*mb look* Haha, don't mind me Minde. Soaking in the tetracylince again, how many pellets per day would you recommend? Is that the only food I should feed her? And for how long?

I would hold off for now and see if thingsa turn around after you do the water change and cool down the water a bit.
Test the water and make sure it is good.
Feed like you did before and only the medicated food for at least a week if no change or if she gets worse.
What do you normally feed her?  How many pellets?  I always split up the medicated feeding into two feedings per day! Smiley
