I guess the difference between us and various animal breeds is that we haven't been bred for certain purposes xD
So maybe we're not as pretty as fantails :'C

AGGH, strength and resolve! D:
Or you can be patient and wait until she can't make you cut it
Sweet 18 is one the way
(Unless you're already past 18 but just being very nice to your mom

I totally understand how you'd like to grow it out. Trouble is if you don't keep it in order, your Mum will notice and make an appointment. My younger step bro has really gorgeous curly hair, but because of his work, he has to keep it under control. My oldest step bro has hair longer than most women I know!
he's got an Ozzy sorta groove going on with his do ya know? ha ha says he's gonna shave it all off I hope not

Actually, (sorry for being scientfical here), all fancies were selectively bred intially. It isn't the fish itself that is the genetic mutation, but there were maybe 2 fish with the mutation that the breeder liked. (For example a ranchu). He would keep breeding the 2 fish until all fish that the 2 mutations made were dorsaless. Then the breeder would breed the offspring and so on. So yes the ranchu we know today is a genetic mutation, but it is the norm for the breed. So a genetic mutation for the modern ranchu would be having a single tail.
Sorry for being a know it all...just thought that may clarify some things up.

I know that's what they do with dogs/cats, but I just can't imagine how they do it with goldfish. It's crazy, how do they make a ranchu out of comets? Wouldn't you just keep getting comets?

Some fish have smaller mutations, and if the mutations look nice, why not work on it?
Note that it's taken many hundreds of years to achieve the fancy varieties we have today

Makes sense
Clementine has a mutation, she has semi-telescope eyes for a common with that little glass ball over it which I don't see on Sunshine! Does that make sense? Ha, maybe I should get some photos of it
