Ranchus
« on: February 15, 2012, 11:40:18 PM »

Does anyone around here have experience with ranchus? I can't think of anyone offhand except fantailer's lionhead... I am thinking about getting one or two but I am wary. Very high-quality ranchus are readily available from an importer here. Are they at a disadvantage when kept with orandas for example? I'm worried it would not keep up with the others. Would it be better suited to living in the "telescope tank"? Is there anything I should consider before getting one? What about high-currents? The oranda's tank has a lot of current...the telescopes don't. I just don't see how they manage with their stumpy little fins... cute though. Ok, enough rambling. Thoughts?

My lionhead does good with a common so it would be fine.

They are way faster than they look mine is as fast as Titan and faster than Orbitz.

Thanks guys! I've decided to just go for it. I have my heart set on this one but the importer said he has better ones, I'm going to pick out one or two this weekend. Exciting!

Edit- this picture belongs to Tommy at goldfishnet.com (don't sue me for stealing it)
